There are many images that my audience never gets to see...images of session preparation, frustration, tears, etc. Every picture tells a story. I hope you enjoy the stories you're about to "read."
Being a "one man show," I usually put my clients to work. Here, we were walking up toward the Flatirons in Boulder for a "just turned 5" twin photo shoot. Many props and balloons for this shoot. Oh how I appreciate the help, as I don't travel lightly.
As I said, I work solo, so having clients willing to assist with reflectors, props, etc. sure is a big help!
I like to bring furniture to my shoots! :)
I'm cold. Can we please be done?
This littl girl wanted absolutely nothing to do with me during the Arvada Mom's Group photo shoot. The only time she was happy was when her mom handed her a pair of sunglasses. What a cutie!
This was their 2 year old group shot. Hilarious!
The next few images are of my cousin's Senior photo shoot. We took many cool images by some graffiti walls in Kansas City and these pictures really show his TRUE personality! Love you, Spenc!
Mom did not like his white socks.
The pictures I took of this little girl are some of my favorites from 2012. After almost two hours of shooting, this 3 yr. old had had enough. She still looked amazing even when she was unhappy!
Go away, lady!
This picture makes me laugh. You wouldn't believe how long it took to get a family picture of these kids on their parent's backs. We experienced tears, siblings being siblings & much frustration, but we finally got a great shot (not shown here).
Then there is the lovely wind here in Colorado. A first communion shoot outdoors at Hudson Gardens with a veil and pretty white dress...and lots of dust blowing in the air. Luckily, the wind was sporatic, so the pictures ended up turning out amazing!
Babies first photo shoot. Ummm, not sure he was diggin' it...
Not all siblings were excited about holding hands for a picture. Their laughter was infectious!
This little girl's grandfather loves funny face pictures of his grandchildren. I'm sure this one is extra special to him. :)
As I said, every picture tells a story...
Trying to coordinate a funny Christmas picture.
Thinking they were done with the photo shoot, they began rolling down this very dry, grassy hill. This is when I am most thankful for photoshop...(we weren't done yet!)
From what mama tells me, these are normal days in their household. Four kiddos under the age of 9 and a doggie. HUGE kudos to you!
Again, this little one had had enough of me and my camera. I adore this picture. It always gets interesting after an hour + of shooting little kiddos...
It's challenging throwing doggies into the mix. Being a dog owner/lover myself, I am extremely patient when it comes to having dogs in my shoots, as they are part of the family too! Wrong way, sweetie...
Just being silly!
Being a twin myself, I 100% get this.
Shoot planned for outside quickly changed, as it began to snow. We set up shop in my basement and I had a little help from their mom.
Bubbles wouldn't even make her smile. :(
All I needed was a little milk people!
Attempting to spell Joy on my seamless paper for their Christmas card. They were not having it, so on to plan B.
We are both very tired, picture lady! Are you done yet?
Again, never afraid to ask for a little help!
