There is something that draws me to railroad tracks and trains! Maybe because my son has adored them since he was an infant? Not sure, but whenever I drive by a train track, many visions go dancing through my head. (This happens a lot!) I was visiting my sister and her family in Minneapolis last year and planned on doing a shoot with my beautiful niece. They just so happen to live across the street from some railroad tracks. (Happy girl!) The day of our shoot, I told her I wanted to start across the street on the tracks. Here are a couple of images from that day! I'm a very proud Auntie!
I made another trip from Denver to Minneapolis in October of 2011 for a few more shoots. I HAD to go back to the tracks across from my niece's house. Everything about the location was perfect, especially for that time of year in MN! What beautiful people I was lucky to capture. The lighting was ideal and the viverant colors of Fall were in full swing - A photographer's dream!
Late Winter 2012, I had a session with a 2 year old who didn't know me from adam. It was a breezy Winter morning at the railroad tracks in Golden, CO. Mom thought we needed to postpone, as AJ didn't seem to take a liking to me. However, I was very determined to make this shoot happen. Here are a couple of images that I captured during this challenging session with a darling little boy who eventually grew to like me! (Thank goodness I had some extra bubbles in my car!) :)
...and this is why I love railroad tracks! A rustic setting makes for amazing B&W or vintage like images with so much character! My mission is to recognize beauty and see the world differently...to capture a moment in time. (Sigh!)

Jacqueline - I randomly stumbled upon your photos, and they are amazing! Funny enough I moved from MN to CO. You got the best of my favorite worlds in these photos. The colors are perfect!
Out of curiosity, where in Golden did you take those pictures? It doesn't look very familiar. I'm having a wedding fall 2016...I'll keep you in mind. ;)
